Abstract

Meningoencephalocele is a rare congenital disorder with an incidence of 1–4 cases per 10,000 live births. Meningoencephalocele is a congenital abnormality resulting from a neural tube defect. The male patient was born at term with cesarean section on indication of congenital abnormalities. The patient had a lump on the side of the head since birth. The patient's mother admitted that she did not consume enough folic acid during pregnancy. On physical examination found a lump in the occipital with a size of 15x15 cm. No blood or pus was found. There is a fluctuation and indicates a transillumination. A CT scan of the head without contrast revealed a parietal meningoencephalocele with a regional defect. The patient was given management in the form of a mass dressing with sterile gauze/24 hours, antibiotics, analgesics and meeting the patient's fluid needs. The patient underwent neurosurgical surgery, namely resection of transcranial meningoencephalocele followed by careful observation and monitoring of the baby's vital signs during surgery. After surgery, there was no evidence of cerebrospinal infection and leakage of cerebrospinal fluid. The wound healed completely and there was no sign of increased intracranial pressure during hospitalization. Head circumference was measured and graphed twice a week. The patient's condition was followed up and showed improvement every day. The research method used an empirical case study that investigated a symptom in a real-life setting and it was concluded that the patient had no visible involvement of the brain in the parietal meningoencephalocele and no hydrocephalus, so this patient had a good prognosis. Suggestions for further research is to look at the prognosis and complications in patients so that they can be assessed early and become a doctor's consideration in determining the action to be taken.

Abstract

At this time, many pregnant women don’t understand the importance of KIA Books. KIA books are often assumed to be a control card that must carry. But too much of information contained has an impact KIA books being less applied by pregnant woman. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between knowledge of pregnant women TM III with danger signs of pregnancy use of KIA books. This research design uses probability sampling by means of cluster sampling. The data were taken from a questionnaire given by pregnant women TM III. Research subject is pregnant women with TM III, data were analyzed by the spearman rank test. This study involved 62 pregnant women TM III. The result is 19 respondents (30.6%) have good knowledge, in detail 15 respondents (24.4%) use KIA books and 4 respondents (6.5%) didn’t use KIA books. Meanwhile, 21 respondents (33.9%) were knowledgeable enough, in detail 11 respondents (17.7%) used KIA books and 10 respondents (16.1%) didn’t use KIA books. Then, 22 respondents (35.5%) had less knowledge, indicating that 16 respondents (25.8%) used KIA books and 6 respondents (25.8%) didnt use KIA books. Spearman rank test results obtained value 0.764 > = 0.05. In conclusion, there is no relationship between the knowledge of pregnant women TM III about the danger signs of pregnancy with the use of the KIA books. So it is important to understand the KIA books for pregnant women with TM III to detect the danger signs of pregnancy so that they can be handled quickly and appropriately.

Abstract

Weaning age is the time when breastfeeding is stopped and replaced with complementary foods. Based on a preliminary study at the Posyandu Aster, Tegal Besar Village, Kaliwates District, Jember Regency, of the 10 respondents who had children aged 24-36 months who had weaned their children, only 2 were on time and the nutritional status of their children was good, and 8 people who did the weaning incorrectlytime. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the history of weaning age and the nutritional status of children aged 24-36 months. Correlation analytic research design with cross sectional approach. The population is 128 mom who have children aged 24-36 months, the sample is 96. The technique used is simple random sampling with data collection using questionnaires, obtained =24 month weaning age as 28(29.16%), <24 months were 68 (70.84%). Nutritional status over 13 (13.54%), both were 26 (27, 08%), approximately as many as 42 (43.75%), poor as many as15 (15.62%). Statistically Based on Chi Square test and df = 1 and the 5% error level obtained x2 count is greater than x2 tables (9.12> 3.481) and KK forb 0,295. The conclusion is that there is a relationship between the history of weaning age and the nutritional status of children aged 24-36 months with a low/ weak but definite relationship strength. Health care workers should provide education on properweaning and weaning effects of improper weaning so that people do right on time.

Abstract

Black rice contains high bioactive compounds that have antioxidant activity so that it has the potential as a source of functional food that can help to overcome various health problems. Black rice extract has high potential to be developed into an antioxidant beverage. Research on the content of bioactive compounds, antioxidant activity, and nutrients in black rice extract beverages has not been widely studied in Indonesia. The objective of this study was to determine the content of bioactive compounds, activity, and nutrients of black rice extract. Four types of commercial black rice grains were extracted using methanol as comparison (without treatment) and using water with a temperature of 90°C for 15 and 25 minutes, with the ratio of water: rice powder (20, 25 and 30 ml/ g). The black rice extracts were tested for total phenolic compound, antioxidant activity, protein, and iron content. The highest total phenolic content, flavonoids, and antioxidant activity of black rice extract beverages were 4.54 mg GAE/g (water ratio: rice powder 20 ml/g, 15 minutes), 14.51 mg QE/g (water ratio: rice powder 20 ml/g, 15 minutes), and 73.44% (water ratio: rice powder 30 ml/g, 15 minutes). The total protein and iron content of extract black rice beverage was 0.3115- 0.3620% and 0.0100- 0.0123%, respectively. The presence of high content of bioactive compounds, protein, iron, and antioxidant activity in black rice extract with a processing time of 15 and 25 minutes at 90°C, and the ratio of water: rice powder (20, 25, 30 ml/g) indicates that the processing conditions can provide a reference in producing black rice extract beverages which are rich in bioactive compounds, antioxidants, and nutrients. The presence of iron in brown rice extract may help overcome iron deficiency.

Abstract

Tofu is a typical Indonesian dish that is well known and has many Indonesian fans who are accustomed to consuming it as a side dish or as a snack food among young people and adults. The tofu processing process at the tofu factory is the majority still using the manual method. Workers sometimes feel tired when carrying out their work activities, if they forced to work continuously then fatigue will increase or they can be at risk of injury and later, it will have a bad impact on the workers. The population in this research is as many as 10 workers in the burning, washing , milling, cooking, to the printing of tofu. Data collection begins by using a site survey in the field and then analyzing the potential hazards in the production process. The data collection instrument used to determine the conditions experienced by workers is the Nordic Body Map. In addition, interviews were also conducted with workers regarding age, length of work, smoking habits of workers, and injuries experienced by workers. The purpose of this study was to identify musculoskeletal complaints in workers. The results showed that there were inadequate working conditions because at the time of the tofu making process they still used the manual method and the musculoskeletal complaints of the workers were in the moderate category. The prevention that can be done is providing drinking water, adding rest areas and stretching muscles before, during and after work
